Welcome to the December edition of the Jewish Future Pledge Newsletter.

Pledges to date: The Jewish Future Pledge reached 34,289 pledgers, and the Jewish Youth Pledge now has 18,438 Youth Pledgers.

Happy Hanukkah, from all of us at the Jewish Future Pledge.

As you pass latkes across the table and spin the dreidel once again, take a moment to reflect on Hanukkah’s symbolic message of lighting up the darkness.

The Jewish Future Pledge exists for this very moment. It’s a step toward a brighter tomorrow for the Jewish future, and a reminder that just like the Maccabees, history is on our side.

I recently wrote an article in eJewish Philanthropy on how the Jewish future is about opening your heart, not your wallet. As we navigate these tumultuous times, let the Pledge be your declaration of resilience and solidarity. Let it be your legacy to the Jewish community and Israel.

Too many Jewish souls remain in the hands of our enemies, a reminder we must continue to say their names and keep them in our prayers. We must remember that an attack on one of us, is also an attack on all of us.

A brighter Jewish future depends on collectively showing the world that fear is no match for the strength found in unity.

Bring Them Home.

How To: Assist Food Rescue Operations in Israel

The war in Israel has heavily impacted all areas of everyday life, especially on Israeli farms now facing worker shortages during the critical harvest season.

Our partners at Birthright Israel Onward recently launched a first-of-its-kind volunteer program, where Jewish adults ages 18-40 can volunteer for two-week periods on Israeli farms and in agriculture centers. After volunteering on the farms during the day, participants spend evenings with Israeli peers to hear different perspectives on the war and share their own experiences as Jews living in the Diaspora.
